The top three things you should know when it comes to ordering a skip:
1. Never overload the skip:
Waste should never go above the top of the skip otherwise our drivers will be breaking the law when transporting it. Unfortunately, makeshift walls around the skip are not allowed.
2. The following must never be placed in the skip:
- Hazardous / Toxic / Explosive Materials
- Clinical / Medical Waste
- Fridges / Freezers
- Tyres
- Asbestos
- Paint or Paint Cans
- Televisions / Computer Monitors
- Solvents
- Fluorescent Tubes
- Liquids
- Large Items of Wood such as tree trunks
- Plasterboard
- Oil / Petrol / Diesel
- Batteries
3. Heavy Material:
If you are filling the skip up with heavy materials such as soil, hardcore, rubble etc then only 4 or 8 yard skips can be used so as to allow the safe lifting of it. We can often provide special rates for heavy materials, please contact us on 0141 954 0077 for further information.
